Spring Garden Prep
The weather has been nicer so we’ve been getting our garden planned out and prepped. I started a trellace with bamboo poles for our peas, squash and other climbing veggies.
Our broccoli and cauliflower babies are still moving along, waiting for warm enough night time temps so they can go outside.
The peas I started last week are growing inches a day, so I’m training them onto bamboo sticks. I have green onions and artichokes started already.
I started some lettuce, herbs and catnip inside. In the next week we should be able to start some of our outdoor plants; corn, beets, carrots, radishes, kohlrabi, cucumbers, squash, onions, leeks and pumpkins. I’m looking to get some starts for potatoes, shallots and purple asparagus too. I haven’t decided how I want to do the potatoes. I’ve seen methods in tires, plastic bags and containers, anyone tried any of these methods?
