Ombre Curtains

I saw this project on Pinterest and have been wanting to do it. We don’t have a deck, so I adapted it to work on our greenhouse.

I threw caution to the wind and picked up a bunch of curtains from my favorite local thrift store. They always let me walk out of there arms full for $10. Anywho, got the curtains and set about trying to dip dye them in my washing machine. It didn’t work too great and I ended up with solid pink curtains (I was shooting for Wine ombre). I dumped in a container of purple dye to see if they’d darken any. Not much. I decide to go ahead and hang them up and be happy with solid rather than ombre. I had a spare bottle of Scarlet liquid and got a crazy idea to stick it on a spray bottle and force an ombre effect. It worked out awesome. Screw trying to dip dye, I’ll just hang it up and spray it into gradients. I started with 2 droppers full of Scarlet and added 2 more for each successive color. My curtains were all different fabrics, so they came out slightly different, but I’m pleased. Now I need to find some cute string lights to put along the top…
