I recently went to get my eyes checked for the first time ever (yes, I know I’m bad and I should have been getting them checked every year) because I’ve been having some weird symptoms with my eyes. I noticed myself getting headaches and feeling like my eyes were too big for their sockets and having white outs. As it turns out there is very little wrong with my eyes. My vision was measured at 20/10, which is about twice as good as 20/20. The best vision recorded in humans is 20/8, so I’m not far from having the best sight possible. The doctor told us that only 1-5% of 20 year olds have 20/10. I’m excited about what this means for later long range hunting. My eyesight is close to eagles and hawks, 20/4 and 20/2 respectively. But I have an astigmatism that is causing problems with glare and some lighting conditions. He offered to make me some .75+ reading glasses, but I doubt they will make much difference since they don’t sell under 1.00+ off the reading racks. In the meantime, I’ll just need to be careful about how long I use the computer for.
