Kindle Fire and Knitting

Yesterday I got supplies to try and teach myself how to knit and crochet. I also got the Kindle Fire I won in the mail. I played with the Kindle for a long time, it’s pretty cool. I will still probably end up buying a more powerful tablet over Black Friday, but this is cool for media. The wifi works as well or better than our computers, it’s super fast and it does all kinds of cool stuff. It’s not the Kindle Fire HD or the super fancy one, but I’m pretty satisfied with it.

My first attempts at knitting were thwarted last night. I was trying to teach myself from videos on youtube and it’s just not happening. I’ve got a major mental block and I suspect I’ll have to ask the M-I-L to show me how to get past having the stitches on your one needle. Tonight, I may try crochet.

  1. Find a LYS (local yarn store). Many of them have classes and others will just teach you as long as you buy your supplies from them.
