Rattlesnake for Breakfast?

Today is my first full day on my new diet and I’m having trouble adjusting to solid foods for breakfast. Luckily, I was distracted by Lucy-cat acting weird in the window, so I look and see a big rattlesnake. The Sweetness was gone to work and in hindsight, I should have called RD to come kill it for me, but I thought it’d get away or it’d somehow get into the house. So, I pulled on my rainboots, grabbed the pullet gun and headed out to take care of it myself. My first shot got it in the head but rattlesnakes are notoriously difficult to kill, so I threw a cinder block on it’s head to keep that end secured while I chopped it up with a shovel.

FYI- If you kill a rattlesnake, make sure to cut off the head and avoid getting near the head even after it’s dead. It can still bite you a long time after it’s cut off. Put the head in a container before throwing it out to keep pets from eating it or getting bit.

Lucy-cat is still sketched out and keeps checking all the windows. I guess I’m not so tough either since I screamed when I got a bug in my shirt once I came in from dealing with the snake…

  1. You go girl… I don’t know if I would have the guts to kill a snake on my own…. I hate snakes 😦
