I got a toy for Lucy-Furr that is super cool. It’s a realistic mouse that squeaks when she bats at it. It’s really life like and both she and Hootie love it. It’s a little pricy at $5, but they are definitely playing with it enough to justify the cost.

They also both went to a PetCo shot clinic this Valentine’s day for their rabies shots. It was a mess. We got there behind these batty people with 11 dogs. There’s a 5 pet per customer limit, so the woman brought her husband and son along to get all the dogs vaccinated. Not only that, she was being completely difficult with the people and getting them taken care of was a mess. I think we were there for an hour or so because of those people. It should have been easy and in and out, but because of these people, it was kind of traumatic. At least Hootie is good on shots for 3 years and Lucy is good for another year. I suppose it’s true that there’s no such thing as a free lunch, or cheap and easy vaccinations!

I learned something at the vet when I took Lucy in. I was looking at a pamphlet about cat diet that said that 1 cup of milk to a cat is equal to a person eating 4.5 hamburgers. Along those lines, 1 ounce of cheese is equilalent to 3.5 hamburgers. I was pretty surprised because Hootie loves to have a little milk in the morning. Unfortunately, he won’t be getting much anymore because he has been getting tubby. He may be able to con me into a splash here and there, but not daily like he’s used to.
