I haven’t written in awhile about either sweeping or couponing and I have a few notes. I’ve been winning small things lately, movie tickets, books, chap-stick and lotion, etc. Oh, I forgot, today I also won some rain boots. I’m pretty excited about those for the Spring. I’m still watching the mail for my Denver trip info and my TV, these are my first big prizes, so I have no idea how long the delivery process takes.
Couponing has reached a hurdle. I recently read an article about how retailers are cracking down on extreme couponing. In the article it sounds like they won’t be doubling any more (Coupons never doubled for me in NM) and some stores are banning coupon stacking (when you get a store coupon and a manufacturer coupon and use them together, or clipped and electronic coupons together). I had suspected this was happening when the registers started rejecting coupons I tried to stack on items. So, it appears that the main game is now matching coupons to local sales. I’ve mostly been doing that and it’s gotten me around 50% savings most trips.
