Health Update

I’m still waiting to hear from Lovelace about my health insurance, but in the meantime, I’ve been doing some research and looking into alternative methods. My chiropractor suspects an adrenal disorder and prescribed me Drenamin. We’ll see how that goes. If it improves, great, if not, no loss. I’m also going to try the acupuncture clinic on Tuesday to see if they have any direction for me. Basically I figure if I can get a general direction from homeopathic methods, I can take that to a general practice and hopefully it means less poking and stabbing for me.

I got an email from one of our subscribers at work demanding a refund on his subscription. He wasn’t overly rude, but slightly irate, so I looked into things for him. I couldn’t find any record of his payment in our records or on our list. I emailed him several times back and forth trying to make things right for him. Finally, he tells me he moved. I ask if he did any change of address forms or notified us of the change, he says no. I politely tell him that I will send him some back issues and get his new address on the list. In my head, I’m wondering how this person functions in life.

This is a few days old, but I’m still surprised that he said this on live television. I’m sure he thought it was a clever line, but telling the women of your country to keep their collective legs shut is not a way to win over voters. I don’t understand why this is such an issue, a religious business is still a business and the same rules apply. If someone working for a religious organization is provided health care at their job, it shouldn’t be selective. Either offer health insurance to be used at the employee’s discretion or don’t offer it at all. I can’t believe all of the argument that is going on over this. Has anyone else noticed that we’re going bankrupt?? Maybe a little outrage over the economy would be nice? Everyone gets so sensitive over their principles while our country is dying. It’ll be nice when we are all living in poverty because NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO AFFORD BIRTH CONTROL. Problem solved.

(Ok, that was a little extreme, but join the modern world. People have sex and they’re going to keep doing it. We can’t support too many more people on this planet. Do the math, things have to change.)

Insurance companies are jerks

I’ve been trying to get health insurance lately because my company has offered to pay up to $300 for my premium. I’m now trying a second company since Presbyterian turned me down. Presbyterian turned me down because of my acute scoliosis. I’m not crippled or anything, I just need to go to the chiropractor once a month so I can function. I’ll admit that it does impact my life if I don’t go and I have trouble with pinched nerves and sometimes can’t get out of bed because of it, but it’s generally under control. They are still going to make money on me, I go to the doctor once a year otherwise. I think they just don’t care and don’t bother to look into the details. I’m trying Lovelace now, but if they deny me I may go for something called the Medical Insurance Pool. I’ll need to do more research on it, but the company’s broker told me about it and said it might be my best bet. Until then, we wait.
